CALL FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
The Scientific Programme Committee of the 18th Asia Pacific Telephone Counselling Conference (APTCC) 2025 invites the submission of scientific abstracts. Please read the details below carefully before submitting an abstract.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES & REQUIREMENTS
Important Dates
12 May 2025 – Abstract Submission Deadline
9 June 2025 – Notification of Abstract Acceptance
30 June 2025 – Registration Deadline for Presenters
5-7 September 2025 – Main Conference @ Sunway Resort Hotel, Malaysia
SUBMISSION TRACKS/CATEGORIES
Authors can submit abstracts under the following five main categories:
1. Technology in Helpline Services
2. Suicide Prevention and Crisis Intervention
3. Volunteer and Organizational Development
4. Accessibility and Cultural Sensitivity
5. Innovative Counselling Modalities
The correct category must be mentioned in the submission email to ensure proper evaluation. The APTCC 2025 Scientific Committee reserves the right to reassign an abstract to a different category if applicable.
All submitted abstracts may be eligible for the Scientific Competition. Details of the competition will be available at a later date.
SUBMISSION TYPES
Rapid Oral Presentation:
– Authors of accepted abstracts are required to deliver a short oral presentation of their research
– Rapid oral presentations will be limited to 5 minutes per presenter.
Poster Presentation:
– Authors of accepted abstracts will present their research in a dedicated poster session, where they will have the opportunity to engage with attendees and answer questions.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Abstracts must adhere to the following structure:
- Title: Indicate the content of the abstract.
- Background & Objectives
- Methods
- Results
- Discussion and Conclusion
Word Limit:
– Abstracts must be 300 words or less (excluding title and author details). Graphs and tables are not allowed.
Language:
– Abstracts must be submitted in English, Chinese (Simplified or Traditional), or Bahasa Melayu. However, abstracts should be written in only one language and should not mix multiple languages. Submissions will be reproduced exactly as submitted, without proofreading. Please ensure your submission is free of spelling, grammatical, or scientific errors.
ABSTRACT PRESENTATION
- If an abstract is accepted as a Rapid Oral Presentation, the presenting author may be required to be available for discussion during the designated presentation session.
- If an abstract is accepted as a Poster Presentation, the presenting author must prepare a poster and be present at their assigned session to discuss their research with attendees.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

CONFLICT OF INTEREST
To maintain high-quality educational content free from commercial bias, submitting authors are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest for all authors during submission.
WITHDRAWAL OF ABSTRACTS
Authors wishing to withdraw their abstracts must send a written statement explaining their reasons to 18aptcc@gmail.com by 15 August 2025, 23:59 (GMT +8).
OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS
- Submission of an abstract constitutes a formal commitment by the presenting author to present the poster during the session assigned by the APTCC 2025 Scientific Committee.
- Presenters must register for the conference by 30 June 2025. Failure to do so will result in withdrawal of the abstract.
- Abstracts must adhere to all guidelines to be accepted. The APTCC 2025 Scientific Committee’s decision on abstract acceptance or rejection is final.
- The scheduling of Rapid Oral Presentations and Poster Presentations will be determined by the Scientific Committee.
- Abstracts accepted for the conference are subject to transfer of copyright to APTCC 2025.
- Reviewer comments will not be disclosed as part of the abstract decision process.
